Meals on Wheels receives a tremendous amount of financial support from our community. Funding is received from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to cover bare food costs, but all administration, delivery and extraneous costs must be covered by local donations. We rely and depend on these contributions and are rarely disappointed by the support of local individuals and organizations.

Dear Meals on Wheels,

My aunt recently moved from her apartment to Gilmore Lodge. Prior to this transfer, my aunt was receiving meals on wheels.

I want to let you know that my aunt often commented to me that the meals were very good. As well, she told me that the people who delivered the meals were exceptionally friendly and helpful. She truly looked forward to her meals and the wonderful people who delivered them.

My aunt also mentioned that in moving to Gilmore Lodge, she is still receiving the great food that she enjoyed through meals on wheels. As you know, moving to a nursing home is a big change. I think the fact that my aunt continues to receive the same food that she was receiving at home goes a long way to easing this transition.

Please extend my thanks to everyone involved in providing such an important service to my aunt and all the many other seniors that you assist in making it possible to live independently in their homes for as long as possible.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the meals delicious and nourishing. The cost was nominal and the people from Meals on Wheels were exceedingly kind. Many thanks from a grateful client.
