What is the role of the Volunteers?
The backbone of the Meals on Wheels organization is our Volunteers. Our Volunteers are caring, committed individuals who are dedicated to helping others.
Their service is invaluable in helping our clients maintain independence in their own homes. They help insure the safety of clients by providing a check on their well-being. If no personal contact is made, all necessary steps are taken to determine the whereabouts of the client.
Volunteers are needed to:
- drive and/or serve for the delivery of hot and/or frozen meals
- serve at the Congregate Dining events
- drive and assist at Lunch Out events
- Serve on the Board of Directors
Scheduling is flexible. If you would like to volunteer, please call (905) 356-7548 or (905) 356-9194 for further information.
